ISLAMABAD (MNN); Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Sunday that vehicles without an M-Tag will not be allowed to enter Islamabad from January 1 as part of enhanced security arrangements and the Smart City initiative.
Chairing a meeting at the Safe City Headquarters, the minister reviewed ongoing measures for public safety and directed officials to speed up the Capital Smart City project. He said Islamabad was being developed as the country’s first fully integrated smart city, equipped with modern surveillance systems and digital monitoring technologies.
During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, inspected various facilities at the Safe City Headquarters, including the main control room and the special Chinese desk. He was briefed on real-time monitoring mechanisms and the use of advanced technology to strengthen law enforcement and ensure citizen safety.
