RAWALPINDI (MNN); Security forces killed four India-sponsored Fitna al Khawarij militants during an intelligence-based operation in Panjgur district of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out on December 26 after credible intelligence pointed to the presence of militants affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna al Khawarij.
The ISPR said troops effectively targeted a terrorist hideout, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire during which four Indian-backed Khawarij were killed. No casualties were reported among security personnel.
A cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives was recovered from the site. The statement added that the slain militants were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.
The ISPR said sanitisation operations were ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants in the region. It added that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies continue counterterrorism efforts under “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee as part of the National Action Plan.
