ISLAMABAD; Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Tajikistan, Mr. Aziz Giyozoda, at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations, parliamentary collaboration, and mutual cooperation across various sectors.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq noted that Pakistan and Tajikistan share deep-rooted historical, religious, and cultural ties that serve as a strong foundation of brotherhood and mutual respect. He said Pakistan considers Tajikistan a close and brotherly Islamic country and places great importance on its relations with the Central Asian Republics.
The Speaker emphasized that stronger parliamentary linkages could further boost mutual trust and cooperation between the two nations. He also underlined the need to promote cultural, educational, and trade exchanges to strengthen understanding and prosperity in the region.
“Pakistan is like a second home for the people of Tajikistan,” he remarked, acknowledging the resilience and sacrifices of the Tajik nation in overcoming years of conflict. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and collective progress.
Both leaders agreed to work together to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity across the region.
Deputy Speaker Aziz Giyozoda appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting regional harmony and expressed Tajikistan’s desire to further expand bilateral and parliamentary cooperation. He said Pakistan and Tajikistan are united by shared faith, traditions, and cultural values.
