The report, submitted by DSP (Legal) Sajid Cheema, outlined that between January 1 and August 31, 2025, Islamabad Police registered 1,314 drug cases, arrested 1,408 suspects, and seized significant quantities of narcotics including 261 kg charas, 484 kg heroin, 6.6 kg opium, 94 kg ice, small amounts of cocaine, and 8,177 liquor bottles.

A separate list detailed 22 FIRs registered specifically in the surroundings of educational institutions. These cases were linked to NUML University, Urdu University, Preston University, Quaid-e-Azam University, Federal Urdu University, Model Colleges (Blue Area, G-7/1, G-7 Markaz, 3rd Avenue, F-11 Markaz, H-8/1), Pak-Turk School, and others.

The breakdown showed that Quaid-e-Azam University and its adjoining areas witnessed the highest number of FIRs (at least 8 cases), followed by various Model Colleges. Recoveries included charas, heroin, and ice, indicating targeted drug peddling in student-populated zones.

The IHC bench, headed by Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas, noted the seriousness of the issue and directed the submission of FIR copies along with further progress reports. The court reiterated its resolve to eliminate drug trade from the federal capital, especially under the ongoing campaign “Drug-Free Pakistan.”
