LAHORE (MNN); The Pakistan Cricket Board has served a show-cause notice to fast bowler Naseem Shah for allegedly violating the terms of his central contract as well as media policy regulations.
According to a statement issued on Friday, the notice was sent under the board’s disciplinary framework, requiring Naseem Shah to submit his response within the stipulated time. The PCB stated that further action will be decided after reviewing his reply.
While the board did not specify the exact nature of the violation, the development came a day after the opening ceremony of the 11th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League. A controversial post had appeared on Naseem’s social media account regarding Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The post, which included a video from the event, questioned her treatment, but was later deleted. A subsequent message on Naseem’s account claimed that it had been hacked and later recovered.
The PCB reiterated its commitment to maintaining professional standards, contractual discipline, and the integrity of the game.
