WASHINGTON (MNN); US President Donald Trump has announced a 10-day pause in attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure until April 6, stating that the move was made at Tehran’s request.
Trump said negotiations were progressing positively, although Iranian authorities have not confirmed his claims. In a post on Truth Social, he asserted that talks were “going very well” despite what he described as misleading media reports.
Earlier, Trump had delayed potential strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, and the deadline for that decision has now been extended again.
Meanwhile, the conflict continues to intensify on the ground. Explosions were heard across Israel as Iranian missile barrages targeted multiple areas. Emergency service Magen David Adom reported that a man in his 30s was killed in Nahariya.
In the United Arab Emirates, two people were killed by shrapnel from a missile interception over Abu Dhabi.
According to Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Ali Jafarian, more than 1,900 people have been killed in Iran since the conflict began.
At least 18 people have died in Israel, while three Israeli soldiers were killed in Lebanon. Additionally, 13 American troops have been killed and dozens injured.
Casualties have also been reported among civilians in the occupied West Bank and Gulf Arab states.
Iran’s military stated that it targeted Israeli military vessels in the eastern Mediterranean and fuel storage facilities for fighter jets at the port of Haifa.
A spokesperson for Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, said the country remained determined to respond forcefully to what it described as aggression.
Separately, Saudi Arabia reported that its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed two drones over its Eastern Province, according to the Defence Ministry.
