SPORTS DESK (MNN); The Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Friday that the national cricket team will tour Bangladesh in March for a three-match One Day International series.
In a press release, the board stated that the Pakistan men’s cricket team will tour Bangladesh, with confirmation from the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Friday. The team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on March 9 and hold a training session the following day ahead of the opening ODI against the hosts on March 11.
According to the board, the second ODI will be played on March 13, while the third and final match is set for March 15. All three matches will take place at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
The PCB noted that this will be Pakistan’s second tour of Bangladesh since July 2025. Pakistan last toured Bangladesh for a three-match T20I series in July, which the hosts won 2-1. Meanwhile, Bangladesh toured Pakistan for a three-match T20I series in May/June last year, which the Salman Ali Agha-led side won 3-0.
This announcement comes after Pakistan initially decided to boycott the match against India during the ongoing T20 World Cup. The decision followed Bangladesh’s request to move its matches out of India, which was rejected due to tensions between the two countries, leading to Pakistan being replaced by Scotland in the tournament.
The situation prompted a delegation from the International Cricket Council to visit Pakistan, after which it was confirmed that Pakistan would play the match against India. The ICC also clarified that Bangladesh would not face any penalties for opting out of the tournament and will host an ICC event ahead of the Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2031.
