D I KHAN (MNN); The Counter Terrorism Department on Wednesday conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan, killing three most-wanted terrorists, officials said.
According to CTD officials, the slain militants were identified as Naimatullah, Abdul Rauf Afghani and Mustafa. They were reportedly involved in direct attacks on police and other security forces and were considered highly dangerous.
Security officials said a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists, including three Kalashnikov rifles, nine magazines, two hand grenades and a substantial quantity of bullets.
Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and the Additional Inspector General of CTD praised the CTD teams for the successful operation, stating that attacks on police personnel would be responded to with firm and decisive action. They reaffirmed their commitment to further intensifying intelligence-based operations to eradicate militancy from the province.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also appreciated the CTD for eliminating three Indian-sponsored terrorists in Dera Ismail Khan. He lauded the courage and professionalism of the CTD personnel, saying the operation had foiled the terrorists’ malicious plans.
The interior minister added that the efforts of the CTD and other security agencies to maintain peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were highly commendable, stressing that the entire nation stands united with its security forces in the fight against terrorism.
