ISLAMABAD (MNN); Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, called on Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at the Parliament House on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq described China as Pakistan’s closest and most dependable friend, saying Beijing has consistently stood by Islamabad during challenging times. He expressed pride in the enduring and all-weather friendship between the two countries.
The speaker praised strong cooperation between Pakistan and China in economic and defence fields, noting that bilateral relations are built on mutual trust and respect. He reiterated that Pakistan and China are strategic partners and have always supported each other in difficult circumstances.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said defence collaboration between the two countries plays a vital role in promoting lasting peace and stability in the region.
Recalling his earlier tenure as National Assembly speaker, he said President Xi Jinping’s address to a joint sitting of the Pakistani Parliament was a moment of great honour for the legislature.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong appreciated the speaker’s remarks and said the people of Pakistan and China share deep-rooted and lasting bonds of friendship. He added that the strategic partnership between the two countries continues to strengthen with time.
