RAWALPINDI (MNN); Four personnel of the security forces were martyred after terrorists attempted to storm a security forces camp in the Boya area of North Waziristan district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
According to ISPR, the attack took place on December 19, 2025, when Khwarij terrorists linked to Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij launched a coordinated assault on a security forces camp in the general area of Boya. Fitna al Khwarij is the term used by the state for militants belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The military’s media wing said the attackers attempted to breach the camp’s perimeter but were promptly stopped by the alert and determined response of the troops. Failing to penetrate the security cordon, the terrorists rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the outer perimeter wall, causing its collapse.
The powerful blast resulted in significant damage to nearby civilian infrastructure, including a mosque and several houses. ISPR said the explosion left at least 15 civilians seriously injured, among them women and children. Earlier police and hospital officials had reported 11 injured civilians, who were shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Miranshah for treatment.
During the ensuing exchange of fire, four soldiers embraced martyrdom while fighting bravely. The martyred personnel were identified as Havildar Muhammad Waqas of Kotli, Naik Khanwaiz of Mansehra, Sepoy Sufyan Haider of Vehari and Sepoy Riffat of Layyah.
ISPR stated that the attack was planned and directed by Afghanistan-based Khwarij elements, calling it a clear contradiction of repeated claims by the Afghan Taliban regime that no terrorist groups are operating from Afghan soil.
The military stressed that Pakistan expects the Afghan Taliban to honour their commitments and prevent the use of their territory against Pakistan. It warned that Pakistan reserves the right to pursue and eliminate terrorists and their facilitators wherever they are found to ensure the safety of its people.
The incident follows a similar attack two months ago in Mir Ali, where security forces thwarted a suicide bombing attempt on a military camp, killing four terrorists.
The latest attack comes amid a continued surge in militant violence across the country. Earlier this year, Pakistan was ranked second in the Global Terrorism Index 2025, with terrorism-related fatalities rising by 45 percent compared to the previous year.
