LAHORE (MNN); A Lahore court on Saturday turned down an acquittal request filed by Subhan, one of the accused in the case involving the alleged illegal promotion of online gambling applications.
The hearing against YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, along with other suspects has now been postponed until December 17.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo directed all accused persons to appear at the next hearing for indictment. During the proceedings, Ducky Bhai and co-accused Aroob Jatoi were present in court.
The defence informed the court that Subhan had applied for acquittal. Ducky Bhai stated that Subhan had joined his team only three months before his own arrest and was hired on a salary of Rs100,000, asserting that he had no involvement in the case.
The judge asked about the status of Aroob Jatoi’s pre-arrest bail, to which Ducky Bhai’s counsel responded that it had already been approved. The court then sought details of other pending requests.
The defence said that a petition had been submitted seeking the return of confiscated electronic devices and mobile phones being held by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). The counsel further requested the court to release four credit cards and the seized cash.
The NCCIA had registered the case against the YouTuber and others over alleged illegal advertising of gambling applications. The next hearing will take place on December 17.
