Web Desk (MNN); The federal government has reportedly finalized a decision to replace Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, with senior PML-N leader Nehal Hashmi expected to assume the position soon, according to multiple media reports citing informed sources.
Sources indicate that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sent a summary recommending Tessori’s removal to the Presidency, which received the document earlier in the day. Upon presidential approval, Hashmi is expected to take oath as the new governor on Monday or Tuesday.
The development comes after several weeks of political consultations in the federal capital.
According to sources, the appointment is part of a broader power-sharing arrangement between coalition partners, under which two governorships will be handed to the Pakistan Peoples Party and two to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
Kamran Tessori, who has served as governor since 2022, has been requested to step down as the transition moves forward.
