Web Desk (MNN); Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held formal talks with Bahrain’s top leadership at Al Qudaibiya Palace in Manama on Wednesday, state broadcaster PTV News reported.
The premier arrived in Manama earlier in the day for a two-day official visit. At the airport, he was received with a warm welcome by Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy PM Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and other senior officials.
The Pakistani delegation accompanying the premier includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State for Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani and senior officials. According to the Government of Pakistan’s official X account, the PM was also presented a guard of honour upon his arrival at Al Qudaibiya Palace.
During the visit from November 26 to 27, the prime minister will hold multiple high-level meetings with the Bahraini leadership, including King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad, and Deputy PM Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah.
State media stated that the visit highlights the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and Bahrain and aims to build a strategic, result-oriented partnership. The trip is expected to further diversify cooperation, enhance connectivity between the people of both nations, and open new avenues of collaboration.
Last month, Pakistan and Bahrain agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors during the inaugural meeting of the Pakistan-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group. Both sides decided to form a joint working group for collaboration in areas like counter-narcotics, counterterrorism, coastal security, border management, immigration, and police training, along with signing MoUs on extradition and legal assistance.
In September, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also held discussions with his Bahraini counterpart Gen Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, where both countries agreed to expand cooperation in counterterrorism, anti-narcotics operations and immigration matters.
