Web Desk (MNN); The Pakistan Navy has successfully carried out a flight test of an indigenously developed, ship-launched Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile (ASBM), marking a significant boost to the country’s expanding defence and technological capabilities, the ISPR announced on Tuesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the missile is engineered to strike both maritime and land-based targets with high accuracy. It features advanced guidance technology, enhanced manoeuvring capability, and precise tracking systems, making it an important strategic addition to Pakistan’s defence arsenal.

The test met all technical and operational benchmarks, underscoring the Navy’s ongoing commitment to protecting national security interests.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf witnessed the test flight, along with senior scientists, engineers, and key project members. Admiral Ashraf praised the scientific community, engineers, and all participating teams, calling the successful trial another milestone in Pakistan’s journey toward greater defence self-reliance.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and other service chiefs congratulated the Navy on the achievement, describing it as a major advancement in the country’s defence capabilities.

The successful test reinforces the Pakistan Navy’s operational preparedness and the nation’s progress in developing modern, indigenous defence systems.
