ISLAMABAD (MNN); The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday served a notice to Minister of State for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry over alleged breaches of the election code of conduct.
According to the ECP Punjab spokesperson, the notice pertains to Chaudhry’s visit to the PP-116 constituency in Faisalabad and his subsequent conversation with the media.
The spokesperson stated that the District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Faisalabad issued the notice, asserting that Talal Chaudhry’s actions violated provisions of the Election Act 2017 and the established code of conduct.
Talal Chaudhry has been instructed to submit a written reply within two days.
The spokesperson added that the DMO has also been directed to forward a detailed report to the Election Commission in Islamabad.
