DIR; Unidentified armed men opened fire on the residence of Pakistani cricketer Naseem Shah in the Mayar area of Lower Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the early hours of Monday, according to police and local residents.
Police reported that the incident occurred around 1:45am when the attackers fired several rounds at the main gate of Shah’s house, leaving visible bullet holes. The assailants escaped immediately after the attack.
Mayar police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Officials said CCTV footage from nearby houses is being examined to identify the perpetrators, and security around the cricketer’s residence has been increased.
Local residents stated that Shah’s family comes from a respectable background and has no known disputes or enmities with anyone. Authorities are working to determine the motive behind the attack.
